We will share, and give blessings to the mother to be.

Mum-to-be will be adorned with a garland of fresh flowers and will get a present created by all participants.
It will be the most touching and unforgettable experience.

Cost: $299

Including a special gift and essential oils for the mum to be

What’s the difference between a Mother’s Blessing       and a Baby Shower?

A Mother’s Blessing is very different to a traditional baby shower.

A traditional baby shower is focused on the baby, and usually involves things like presents for the baby, playing games, and drinking a champagne toast to the new mother.

In contrast, a Mother’s Blessing focuses on honouring the mother and holding space for her as she embarks on this incredible life changing rite of passage and transitions from maiden to mother. The underlying intention is to fill her with love, strength, support and encouragement as she embarks on this special journey.

Expectant Mother Art, Add-Ons and Extras

Belly Painting……………………………….$20 art supplies
Salt bowl………………………………………$20 epsom salts & oils
Birthing necklace beads……………….$20
Flower crowns for all guests…………$50 flowers & supplies

Cake by Blue and Ruby cake art……$100 approx

Salt Bowl – Some elements of the Mother Blessing for mums-to-be could include a salt bowl in which each guest adds something to the Epsom salts, such as fragrant oils or dried flowers, and mixes it while saying a prayer or giving a special message to the mother.

Creating Birthing Bracelet or Necklace – This will be the piece of jewellery that you can choose to wear on your birthing day as a reminder of those whom are thinking of you and supporting you.

Cord Binding Ceremony

Mother Blessings are celebrations of pregnant and adoptive women and their transition into motherhood. These special mother-centered gatherings offer friends and family a fresh approach to honoring, supporting, nurturing, and encouraging mothers-to-be.

Post Birth Support
On the day of the Mother Blessing Ceremony, have a close friend take the names and contact details of each woman present to be put on a ‘support roster’ for bringing meals after the birth.

Each woman brings one meal (ensuring the ingredients are breastfeeding friendly) to the new mother and helps out in any way she can when she drops it off – e.g. dishwashing, clothes washing etc. This support is invaluable for the new mum at a big transition time in her life.

CORD BINDING CEREMONY

A beautiful way to close the circle is by having a spool of red yarn or thread which each woman wraps around her own wrist before passing it to the woman next to her who does the same. Once it has gone around to each woman in the circle including the Mother, some words can be spoken about the web of connectivity and support within her circle of woman friends.

Then each woman takes a turn to cut the strings of the woman next to her and help tie the yarn or string onto the wrist. Everyone ends up with a string bracelet that stays on until the mother goes into labor. Whenever her community looks at the red thread, they will think of the Mother. Perhaps send a text or make a phone call. The Mother will be in their thoughts and prayers continually leading up to the birth.

pregnancy virtual support

For me, the first trimester of pregnancy was the most difficult. In fact, it was  excruciating. I was sick (all day!), anxious, and so exhausted.

And I felt incredibly isolated. I was able to tell a very close friend about my early pregnancy but didn’t want to overwhelm her with my daily struggles. The narrative of keeping things a secret for 12 weeks really worked against me, and I wish I had allowed myself more support.

This is why I’ve created the Early Pregnancy virtual support.

This is for you if you are in the first few weeks/months of pregnancy, feeling alone, isolated and forgotten. Maybe, a surprise pregnancy and needing a friendly ear to listen to you processing this time of readjustment. Or maybe you are feeling ok but just want someone you can talk to in those early weeks. I want to help you feel supported, loved and witnessed in all you are going through right now. Think of me as your early pregnancy buddy.

This offering is completely confidential. It will be a space for you to vent, cry, and celebrate with someone who gets it. I come with an open heart, a non-judgemental ear and loads of permission for you to focus solely on yourself.

What you get:

1:1 Zoom chat (1 hour)
6 weeks of Voxer support (text and voice message)

Things we can chat about:

✨How to protect your energy in this time
✨How to find joy in your day when everything feels heavy
✨How to cope with pregnancy sickness
✨General venting
✨Shifting your beliefs
✨Gentle encouragement to share your news with people you trust (no pressure!)
✨Appreciating your body for the huge work that it is doing right now
✨Suggestions for more specialised support

Refunds

If you cancel your postpartum package 60 days or more prior to your due date, a 50% refund will be provided.

If you cancel your postpartum package within 60 days of your due date, no refund will be provided.

Visit Cancellations

If you wish to cancel a scheduled home visit (or other pre-arranged Maternal Connection appointment), a minimum 48 hours’ notice is required, or the visit will be forfeited.

Unexpected Outcomes

Pregnancy and, on rare occasions, birth, include unfortunate outcomes such as stillbirth or miscarriage. Doulas are trained at helping parents through these situations and we would encourage you to call your doula to help you through any unexpected outcome.

A doula can provide reassurance and resources to assist you through these difficult times. If you have booked a Maternal Connection package before 14 weeks of pregnancy and you have a miscarriage, a full refund will be provided if no prenatal visits have taken place. After 14 weeks we strongly encourage your continued use of services as booked or partial refund can be provided if they are within the cancellation parameters above.

Expectant mothers benefit from a nurturing community

"Your presence in my home wasn't intrusive, you are just plain lovely! The meals are nutritious and delicious and the relief of not having to think about dinner every night if I don't want to is a feeling worth its weight in gold, thank you." Cerys
